Serving Camp Savio Through Community Outreach

On July 3, 2026, dedicated volunteers from Our Lady of Grace Women's Guild came together in

the spirit of faith and service to provide lunch for 600 TK–8th grade campers attending 2026 Camp Savio.

The OLG volunteer team of 26 women and men prepared and served a lunch of hot dogs, mixed green salad, potato chips, and fresh watermelon. To commemorate America's 250th anniversary, an afternoon treat of a red, white, and blue ice pop was served to each camper. 

The Women's Guild generously funded the entire meal, making this inaugural outreach possible, reaffirming its mission to enrich the lives of others through charitable and social activities.

Beyond serving a meal, this outreach project fostered fellowship, strengthened parish connections, and demonstrated the profound impact that can be achieved when individuals unite in service to others. The success of this project is a testament to the dedication, compassion, and generosity of every volunteer who gave their time and talents.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers whose generosity, dedication, and tireless efforts made this outreach project a wonderful success. Their willingness to serve reflects the Gospel call to love one another through acts of kindness and selfless service.

The Guild extends heartfelt thanks to Camp Director JC Montenegro for welcoming the Guild as a community partner, Business Manager Myriam Rodriguez for her guidance in planning and coordinating this project and the steadfast vision of Fr. Mike Gergen, Pastor, St. Dominic Savio, for continuing to expand this program. 

Our Lady of Grace is grateful for the awesome spirit of cooperation and partnership between both organizations, making this day of service a joyful and memorable experience.

Building on the success of its inaugural year, the Executive Committee approved funding on July 16, 2026, for the 2027 Camp Savio Luncheon Program. We look forward to once again bringing volunteers together in faith and fellowship to serve our community of children.
